|Name:||Anthurium timplowmanii, Croat 2008|
Timothy Charles Plowman (* 17 November 1944 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; † 7 January 1989) was an American botanist. His special field of interest was the ethnobotany of South American plants.
Anthurium timplowmanii is endemic to Peru, known only from the type locality in the Department of Huanuco, Province of Leoncio Prado, in Premontane wet forest (P-wf), at 650 to 900 m elevation.
Anthurium timplowmanii belongs to the small anthuriums, the leaf size of a fully grown plant is given as about 30cm long. With the beautiful parallel-veined stripes on the leaves, this species is very reminiscent of a mini form of Anthurium veitchii, except that the leaves of Anthurium plowmanii are very hard and highly glossy, and clearly darker green.
