Anthurium regale was found by Gustave Wallis in Peru on the banks of the Marañón, one of the two great headwaters of the Amazon.
The epithet regale (belonging to a king) exists for this species undoubtedly rightly. The velvety leaves with the wonderful drawing need no further description, the foliage speaks for itself. There are numerous, wonderful rarities of this species, it is difficult to decide, the best is to collect them all. The enthusiasm for this species is shown in the original description from Belg.
