Habitat:

epiphytic or terrestrial, at altitudes of 500 - 1500m, in warm humid tropical forest. The type specimen of Anthurium marmoratum was discovered by Sodiro in Ecuador along the rivers known as the Río Toachi and Río Pilatón.  Described in his published work as an epiphytic climbing Anthurium sp., Anthurium marmoratum is truly a hemiepiphyte, but also grows as a terrestrial Anthurium. Hemiepiphytes can grow in the soil as well as climb a host. 

Notes:

Tom Croat describes an occurrence of this species in Ecuador, giving altitudes of 500-1500m. In the pers. comm. he expresses the consideration whether the plants found there could be Anthurium angamarcanum.
