|Name:||Philodendron mamei, André 1883|
mamei = Alfred-Henry-Armand Mame (born in Tours, August 17, 1811; died in Tours, April 12, 1893) was a French printer and publisher.
Philodendron mamei grows terrestrially creeping on the eastern slopes of the Andes at elevations of 700-1800m in cutover of primary forests, sometimes on stream banks in full shade and in cleared primary forests.
Philodendron mamei has beautifully colored leaves that turn from green to gray with age - as with many plants of the genus Philodendron - without losing their appeal. Young plants have longer internodes, in older plants the internodes become shorter again, thus the plants are more compact and easier to cultivate.
