Phil. Dean McDowell cf

Philodendron 'Dean McDowell' (often incorrectly named Philodendron McDowell or McDowellii) was created in 1988 by the enthusiastic plant collector and breeder John Banta from Florida, U.S.A. by crossing Philodendron gloriosum and Philodendron pastazanum. It was named after his close friend who died of AIDS, all the more reason to get the name right.
