Etymology:

clowesii = Reverend John Clowes (1777-1846), the second son and eventual heir of Samuel Clowes of Broughton Hall, near Manchester.

Notes:

Anguloa clowesii usually produces 2, rarely more terminal, large, pleasantly fragrant single flowers per pseudobulb, which are of waxy texture and long lasting. The descriptions of the fragrance are very variable: chocolate, mint, coconut and citrus.
