jesupiorum = Harold Phillips Jesup (1934 - 2017); He was a member and director of the American Orchid Society for most of his life and received many awards for his plants. He also discovered a number of new orchid species in Jamaica, Ecuador and elsewhere. He was an avid conservationist and gardener, also collected rhododendrons and was an amateur herpetologist.

Pleurothallis jesupiorum can grow quickly, developing multiple inflorescence stems at flowering time. These grow up to 15cm long, and can bear up to 3 flowers at a time. The flower size is about 6-7mm.
