loddigesii = Joachim Conrad Loddiges (1738-1826), English botanist and founder of a commercial garden and botanical garden in Hackney.
|Origin:||Laos, Vietnam, Südchina, Hongkong|
lithophytic, epiphytic or terrestrial orchid growing in moist, mossy mixed and coniferous forests at altitudes from 1000 to 1500 meters
Dendrobium loddigesii are kept cooler and much drier from late autumn, In this period flower induction takes place. The temperature should not fall below 15°C, too low temperatures lead to loss of leaves. At warm temperatures, numerous keikis form quickly, and when separated and potted individually, they continue to grow rapidly. Old plants form a dense carpet covered with flowers in spring if well cultivated.
