Tillandsia ionantha is a very widespread species in Central America. Due to the wide distribution, many local varieties have developed. There are about 20 different local varieties available in the trade, each of them is very attractive and worth collecting in its own way.
Tillandsia ionantha 'Silver' is a very robust clone from the Mexican desert.
