Etymology:

houtteana = Louis Benoît van Houtte (1810 - 1876) was a Belgian botanist, plant collector and nursery owner. With Charles Morren, he published the monthly L'Horticulteur Belge, the first journal devoted to Belgian horticulture. In addition to numerous collecting trips, he later ran a seed and flower shop in Brussels, where he also traded in bulbs and garden tools
