Orchids are collected and cultivated for their flower colour, splendour, shape and variety. These mostly grow epiphytically. However, there are also terrestrially growing, tropical orchids that delight with their fantastically coloured leaves. They belong to the subtribe Goodyearinae:

These orchids like it warm, shady, humid (with fresh air) and value good water quality (clean rainwater). They grow in sphagnum or peat substrates, but can also be potted in normal orchid substrate such as our Orchi-Mix.
