Aroid-Mix is our in-house anthurium and philodendron soil and an optimal mix for many other epiphytic plants.
It consists of medium hard pine bark in 15mm grain size with coir and coconut fiber as the main additives. Other additives such as perlite, pumice, vermiculite can be added. However, 20 percent by volume should not be exceeded. With normal culture, the substrate lasts 2 years, then it should be replanted at the latest. The substrate is fertilized, and adjusted to a pH of 5.8.
Dry and in an open bag Aroid-Mix can be stored for several years, but before repotting it should be moistened. After long storage, bark and coco will need some time to reabsorb moisture.D
