The name is therefore not certain and should correctly be given the abbreviation hort. There is also the possibility that it is a natural hybrid, which explains the rarity of the plant. According to Joep Moonen, it may be a hybrid of Philodendron bipennifolium and Philodendron pedatum, as both species grew in the immediate vicinity of the site. The shape of the leaves and the flower also reminded him strongly of Philodendron pedatum. |
