Etymology:

debilipeltatum: debilis = weak, limp, peltatus = shield-shaped
obtuse to rounded leaf bases that extend somewhat beyond the petiole making the blade appear weakly
peltate (hence the epithet ‘‘debilipeltatum’’).

Origin: Peru
Habitat:

The species grows lithophytically in the fissured limestone cliffs near Tingo Marı'a, at altitudes of 650 to 800m in premontane tropical forest.

Notes:

Anthurium debilipeltatum was discovered as early as 1971 by Jose Schunke-Vigo (*1935 - †1978), but it was not until 2009 that it was described by Tom Croat on the basis of material he discovered by chance on a collecting trip in Peru. Anthurium debilipeltatum belongs to the small species in the family Araceae.
