| Habitat: | Anthurium metallicum grows epi- and hemiepiphytic (conspicuous are the long and strong adventitious roots) in the Eastern Andes (Cordillera Oriental) in Colombia at about 2500m altitude. Until today this species was found only very rarely (3x confirmed) in nature. |
| Notes: | Anthurium metallicum was rediscovered in 2005. The species was originally described by Linden almost one and a half centuries ago, but was never known well enough to place its origin even within a single country. The original collection was based on a living specimen supposedly from tropical America. |
